Battle footage for the upcoming Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods (Dragon Ball Z: Kami to Kami) movie aired on Japanese television in HD. The scenes feature new character Birusu (Kouichi Yamadera) taking on the Z Fighters

Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods is set between the 517th and 518th installments of Akira Toriyama's original manga. Specifically, it is set during the "lost decade" of story time after the end of the battle with Majin Buu. It features new characters Birusu — the God of Destruction played by Kouichi Yamadera — and his attendant Wisu (Masakazu Morita).

Birusu, the god of destruction who has maintained the balance of the universe, has awakened from a 39-year slumber to destroy the planets in his realm. Hearing rumors of a Saiyan (Saiya-jin) who defeated Freeza, Birusu comes looking for Goku.

Excited that a powerful oponent has appeared after so long, Goku ignores King Kai's advice and challenges Birusu in a battle. However, Goku is no match for Birusu's overwhelming power and is defeated. Birusu leaves after uttering an ominous message, “Is there anyone on Earth more worthy to destroy?” Will Goku and the others really be able to stop the God of Destruction?!

This will air in Japan on March 30

Aiura High School Girl Anime's 1st Promo Streamed

The first promotional video for the anime adaptation of Chama's Aiura four-panel manga began streaming on Friday. The video highlights the series' cast, staff, and premiere date as well as its opening song "Kani Do-Luck!" by Aiu Rabu.

The series stars voice acting newcomers Yui Nakajima, Yuko Iida, and Nao Tamura. The series is being written and directed by Ryosuke Nakamura (NANA, Monster episode director) with character designs by Mieko Hosoi (Aoi Bungaku Series,Nerawareta Gakuen). Linden Films (Senyū) is producing the animation.

The story centers around energetic but annoying Amaya (Nakajima), zero-motivation Iwasawa (Iida), and docile Uehara (Tamura) — three fairly normal high school girls and their classmates. Their daily life is "what happens when there is nothing happening."

Triage X managed to hold onto a spot on this week's charts, despite a deluge of new titles from Viz. Naturally, items like Rosario+Vampire and One Piece are going to grab some of the top spots, but the fact that some of Yen Press's titles managed to stay strong shows the power of them.

I guess that means I've got a few new items to read. Let's take a look at the full list:

I wonder if One Piece is finally seeing the rise to popularity over Bleach and Naruto within the US? I can't speak to the specifics of the BookScan numbers, which would say exactly what the case is, but I feel as though those two big shonen titles don't have their core fanbase sticking around, and not as many new fans are willing to jump in and read all the way from volume one into the fifties and sixties.

                                  Fairytail anime ending 30th March!! Natsu does'nt like the news

NN confirmed that Kodansha's TV Magazine announced on Friday that theFairy Tail anime's television broadcast run will end on March 30. Theadaptation of Hiro Mashima's Fairy Tail fantasy adventure manga premiered on Japan's TV Tokyo station in October 2009.

The April issue of Shueisha's Jump Square magazine is revealing on Monday that the Driland anime will begin a new run in Fairy Tail's current Saturday 10:30 a.m. timeslot on April 6.

However, Mashima posted a statement to fans on his official Twitter feed on Saturday:

Until the time comes, I cannot say something I've always wanted to say, even on Twitter. Please be patient and wait until the time comes for me to announce some good news.
