Triage X managed to hold onto a spot on this week's charts, despite a deluge of new titles from Viz. Naturally, items like Rosario+Vampire and One Piece are going to grab some of the top spots, but the fact that some of Yen Press's titles managed to stay strong shows the power of them.
I guess that means I've got a few new items to read. Let's take a look at the full list:
1. Rosario+Vampire Season II Vol. 11 - Week 1
2. One Piece Vol. 66 - Week 1
3. Vampire Knight Vol. 16 - Week 1
4. Bakuman Vol. 18 - Week 1
5. Pokemon Adventures Vol. 15 - Week 1
6. Demon Love Spell Vol. 2 - Week 1
7. Pandora Hearts Vol. 14 - Week 2
8. Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal Vol. 2 - Week 8
9. Triage X Vol. 2 - Week 2
10. Naruto Vol. 60 - Week 5
I wonder if One Piece is finally seeing the rise to popularity over Bleach and Naruto within the US? I can't speak to the specifics of the BookScan numbers, which would say exactly what the case is, but I feel as though those two big shonen titles don't have their core fanbase sticking around, and not as many new fans are willing to jump in and read all the way from volume one into the fifties and sixties.
