Legacy Of The Sky Volume 1: Crying Sky Review
5.0 out of 5 stars Legacy of the sky: Vol 1 'Crying Sky' A Terrific debut novel for J.M. Bishop 23 April 2013

Format:Paperback
As a veteran reader of graphic novels of the comic strip format, It was a new experience to read J.M. Bishop's unique novel. You have to applaud the Author's innovative approach combining many profound and intriguing storylines, all throughout accenting them with the manga stylings of illustrator A.C. Charrington.
Volume 1 introduces Janus and his mysterious mentor and guide Zenith, A dynamic pairing of personalities often giving rise to an unpredictable and entertaining course to proceedings. Janus is particularly arrogant and immature initially, adding real humour as the comrades make friends and enemies on their journey from mercenary assassins to warriors fighting for the honour of the Sun kingdom in a deadly showdown with rival kingdoms. The main protagonists are not the only characters J.M.Bishop gets right though, the introduction of a myriad of warriors, magicians, royalty and mythic creatures (good and bad) also serve to take the story in manifold and fascinating directions.
This first volume certainly gives the impression of a fantastic world just starting to reveal its true depth.
By producing a novel with a scope that is as potentially vast as it is entertaining,J.M Bishop has made a truimphant entrance onto the graphic novel scene.
